Description

Customs export procedures refers to the document verification and physical inspection of goods by customs agents. Customs processes may vary depending on the product being exported and, in some cases, the end use of the product. A standard process involves requesting packing assistance [ M 19 ] and then submission into the Single Electronic Window of: commercial invoice, insurance certificate, certificate of origin (if required [ P 17 ] for SADC, P18 for other destinations), sanitary and phytosanitary certificates [ P 12.1, P 12.2, P 12.3 ] , other special export licenses (e.g. [ P14.1, P14.2, P14.3 ] . The system will create a notification for payment, which should be settled. Customs officials will then verify the documentation and accept the declaration. Booking can they be made with the shipping agent, details of which must be provided to customs officials, who will then authorize the movement of the goods into the port.
